2011 lambing begins

Our first lamb of the new season was born last Thursday.
It's a great time of the year - and a great time to be living on a farm.

Where I live, on a suburban avenue, sights like this never happen. There is a ravine behind my house where raccoons thrive, and occasionally one can observe the mother leading her young ones on a food hunt between 9:00PM and midnight. They climb onto my deck. I shake my trusty broom, but they are not afraid of me. The sight of my pesky raccoons pales compared to these images.

Have you given them names? The curious would like to know.

We are enjoying lambing season too, it is a wonderful time of year, even if I have found myself having to poddy a couple.

Thank you for this lovely image on a day given over to far too many ugly ones.
